The summer program internship will take place over 10 weeks from June – August and will be conducted in person in Baltimore City, MD.

General Application guidelines are below.

Applicants should be:

  • US Citizen or US Resident

  • Rising college sophomore or junior; enrolled at an accredited college program in STEM major

  • Interested in pursuing a research-based PhD or MD/PhD in the neurosciences

  • Demonstrate strong dedication and alignment to program values

Students are selected for the program after a series of steps that include application screening, interviews, and invitation to participate based on the availability of suitable mentors. All interns will undergo a health screening, criminal background check, and training in the protection of human/animal subjects and the responsible conduct of research prior to beginning their internship and/or research projects. Housing will be provided by the program (dorm room or apartment style) and parking at the apartment will also be covered. This program is viewed as an educational-career enrichment experience however, scholars do receive a stipend currently $15/hr.

Scholars are reimbursed for one round-trip travel expenses from home of residence and Baltimore. Scholars are responsible for their meals. Scholars are required to attend all professional development training sessions and group meetings. Unexplained absences may result in dismissal from the program.
